I’m delighted to share some great pictures from Danessa Myricks Sephora launch.
It was slightly wild party because I was involved in two different aspects of the launch. First up, I live-painted a photo backdrop for Danessa's meet and greet. It was a huge challenge in an hour, but so much fun! I used a mix of acrylic paint and makeup to create a colourful mural that showcased the versatility of Danessa's product.
A special thanks to Kit Oakes from The Social Photographer for his help in setting up the backdrop, as well as taking these wonderful picture.
The makeup comes in cute palettes, so it feels a bit like a painters’ palette. But, I quickly discovered that painting with makeup is nothing like watercolour! It's waterproof and super pigmented, which means it was a bit of a nightmare to wash out my brushes afterwards. A few of my paintbrushes ended up in the bin. But hey, that's all part of the job, right?
The second part of my role was offering live beauty illustrations to guests. I created these 10 minutes portraits specifically with makeup and diversity in mind. Each illustration had a swoosh of DM makeup as a colour pop. <Chef’s Kiss>
Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it. Working with such talented people at these events and helping to bring new brands to life makes my job such a joy.
x, Willa
