The team at The Guardian asked me to squeeze in a last minute commission for them for a feature on counterfeit LPs. The idea was to create parody versions of famous album covers, using puns instead of their original titles. Have a look below, my favourite pun is Miles Davis, Kind of Kind of Blue.
Sadly, I can’t take any credit for coming up with the puns, that was all down to the genius of Christophe Gowans.
All ten illustrations were painted in one night, so they’re a bit rough, but I’m pleased with how they printed.

The albums were all recreated in watercolour. I think it worked particularly well for the landscape of Taylor Swift’s “fakelore”, the painterliness of Radiohead’s “Faux K Computer” of and the tonal scene of The Clash’s “London Cloning”. What do you think?
